Wills – Probate & the Administration of Estates – Trust Matters – Deputyship & Court of Protection Matters -Powers of Attorney
I was born in Colwyn Bay and grew up in Llandudno, attending Ysgol John Bright. I obtained my degree at Liverpool University and initially trained as a social worker, working for five years as a hospital and area based social worker specialising in elderly clients.
My growing interest in the legal aspects of my work prompted a career change and in October 1993 I qualified as a solicitor, working for the next six years in private practice in Newton Abbott in Devon. I became a partner with a large south Devon firm in 1998. At first, I specialised in matrimonial work but gradually moved over to non-contentious areas of law.
I moved back to North Wales for family reasons, joining Bone & Payne in August 1999. I was made a partner in 2004 and became the senior partner of the firm on the 1st October 2015. My experience in Private Client work therefore extends to nearly 25 years.
My main interest, using my social work background, is acting for elderly clients as an attorney or a Court of Protection Deputy, ensuring that their interests are protected and their voice is heard. I also advise in respect of Wills, probate and trust matters.
I am a long-standing member of Solicitors for the Elderly who are an independent, national organisation of lawyers who provide specialist advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
I am also head of our Private Client team, providing supervision and training of other team members where necessary.
I am a life-long Spurs fan.
