Since his admission as a solicitor in 1976 Huw Edwards’ career has focused on criminal law.
After a short period in private practice he became a prosecuting solicitor with
the Cheshire Police Authority before becoming Deputy Chief Prosecuting
Solicitor for north Wales. When the Crown Prosecution Service was created in
1986 Huw became the Branch Crown Prosecutor for North Wales, and as such
handled significant cases including serious fraud and murder.
In 1992 he returned to private practice. He joined Bone & Payne as a partner in 1992. Huw now specialises in criminal defence work, civil
litigation and employment matters. He was
|
appointed as a higher courts advocate in July 2006, and conducts an increasing
amount of advocacy in the crown court.
In addition to his defence practice, Huw is also a deputy district judge and
sits regularly in the magistrates courts throughout north west England. He is
the current chairman of the North Wales Duty Solicitor Committee, and of the
North Wales Courts Board.
His involvement in dealing with serious fraud matters has led to him becoming a
consultant with Quinn Melville Solicitors in Liverpool.
Huw is also qualified to present clients’ cases in the higher courts for civil and criminal proceedings.

Away from the office Huw enjoys hill walking, mountain biking and skiing, where
he tries, with decreasing success, to keep up with his 2 sons.
