Elderly client work is a general term used to describe the wide range of legal
services required by the older client. In addition to the preparation of wills,
the older client may also need advice on issues of mental capacity and consent,
Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection Receivership and Deputyship and Advance
Decisions (living wills). One particular area of concern to the older client is
the funding of care, whether long term planning or the need for immediate
advice on the entitlement to local authority funding, NHS continuing care and
disability benefit entitlement.
